North London giants Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for free agent Diego Costa who recently left Spanish La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian-born Spanish international had his contract cancelled six months before it was scheduled to expire. The interest of Spurs in Diego Costa was revealed by Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo. Diego Costa is no stranger to Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho who managed him during his time at Chelsea. Diego Costa has a similar style with Blues legend Didier Drogba and it played a big part in his signing in 2014.
Former Chelsea defender Ken Moukoudrew comparison between Didier Drogba and Diego Costa as a result of the latter’s performance while he was a Chelsea player. According to him via the Daily Mirror, Moukou said Diego Costa was Chelsea’s Didier Drogbaor Zlatan Ibrahimovic during his time at the club and that football figures like Didier Drogba, Diego Costa and Zlatan Ibrahimovicset themselves apart because of their stature. Diego Costa scored 24 goals in 57 appearances for Chelsea while Jose Mourinho was at the club in his second spell. Mourinho and Tottenham Hotspur are not the only club keen to sign Diego Costa. Others like Italian Serie A giants Napoli, Everton, Fenerbahce and Arsenal are all interested in him.
