Park Ji-Sung, the South Korean player, says that he had not expected the Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba to be signed by Chelsea again.
Drogba had made his way away from Chelsea in 2012 after making them win the Champions League with his fantastic all round game. He turned his attention towards the lower profile leagues thereafter. He played in China and then, in Turkey for a bit of time, but, this summer, he came back to Stamford Bridge.
He was never going to be a regular starter for Chelsea in the starting phase of the season considering his age and also, because he had not been playing any top level football in the recent past, but, now after spending a few weeks of intense training with the Blues, he seems to be getting into shape and he is showing the glimpses of the old game of his. He is even being backed by some fans to hit the top of the goalscoring charts – you can see all Game Picks & Predictions here.
Playing versus Maribor a couple of days back, he was pretty good energy wise and also form wise.
With uncertainty over Diego Costa’s availability in the upcoming Manchester United game, Drogba might just sneak into the starting line up of Chelsea and Ji-Sung reckons that even at this age, he can prove dangerous for the Red Devils.
Ji-Sung who himself was a Red Devil till that summer of 2012 was talking to a TV presenter on Saturday.
