Didier Drogba, who has just completed his stint with Chelsea, has no intentions to join another side in England as the sources close to him suggest.
It’s highly likely that the veteran striker would make his way to the United States of America to spend a season or two there before eventually hanging his boots.
Drogba recently appeared for the Blues for the last time in the game versus Sunderland.
Talking to a newspaper post that game, the former Ivory Coast player said, “Premier League has got quite a few wonderful sides, but, Chelsea is special for me and it always will be.”
“Since the time I have made public that it’s my last season at Chelsea, I have been getting a lot of calls of enquiries if I am available, but, it’s really hard for me to share that same kind of love with any other side.”
“However, I am happy that I am still wanted. It’s always gives a good feeling when you are in your late thirties and people still believe that you can bring something to the table.”
When asked about the speculations of him being interested in MLS, Drogba said, “I would not hurry myself into making a call. I can take my time. I would just relax for the next couple of weeks. However, one thing is for sure I have not lost the hunger in my belly. It’s there and as long as it’s there, I would continue playing.”
Drogba won almost everything with Chelsea, the League, the European Cup, the domestic Cup, everything and that’s why, many Football writers and experts are of the view that he has been the best ever Blues’ player to date.
Drogba scored 164 goals for Chelsea in total.
