Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has hailed the impact that has been made by the club’s current manager Thomas Tuchel and has also disclosed that he very much buys into the belief that the Blues are very capable of winning the UEFA Champions League title this season.
Tuchel has brought about a fear factor to this Chelsea side since taking over the team from Frank Lampard and has continued to flourish in the areas where the former manager faltered before his dismissal. Since his arrival, Chelsea have played up to 2o games under Tuchel and have lost on just one occasion, their last league game against West Bromwich Albion.
They have also been making huge progress in Europe this season, knocking out La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid over two legs of their Champions League fixture.
After ending the Madrid club’s Champions League campaign, they were drawn against Portuguese club FC Porto in the following round and while many believed it was an easy draw, others felt Chelsea would not be able to go past a Porto side that shockingly knocked out Juventus from the competition.
Chelsea traveled to Portugal to play the first leg of the clash against Poto and they secured an impressive 2-0 win away from home, setting a more comfortable tie when they play the second leg at Stamford Bridge next week.
When asked about the Blues’ performance, Drogba said he has been very impressed with the way Tuchel is managing the team and backed them to continue taking it game after game, stating that anything is possible.
